The second there is a chill in the air you’ll hear me say, I’m so excited for Christmas!!! Which I yelled yesterday. But that was because Santa dropped off a present early cause I’ve been such a good girl. The cutest boxes filled with goodies for December Daily. Easily my favorite projects I’ve ever worked on! And I am DETERMINED to finish mine this year and really get into it. I’m trying to work on a plan. Including easy option for printing pictures. A scrap station clean and ready to work on. Journaling everyday. And catch up plan for busy days.
The large box is the main kit from Ali Edwards. And the star box is a mini kit designed by Studio DIY.
See December Daily’s of Christmas past here (sheesh I need to upload the past couple years.)

Finally starting on my December Daily.
December Daily is definitely one of my traditions for this magical month. Maybe even the top three. Right up there with the kids meeting the big guy and presents.
Check out the past books here.
Loving these Christmas Bingo cards to include in my Dec Daily.
In the pic above you can see I soaked three of my Bottle Brush trees in bleach from last year to re-dye them with more of my favorite colors. Check out my video tutorial for the trees here.
And Tim Holtz sells his trees all grouped together now so you can make your own colorful forest. I was only going to display mine for Christmas but Collin insisted on leaving them up. I think they’ll always be displayed now. One of those things my kids will remember from our home. I can still remember a cross stitch my mom hung and a quote about fear my dad hung in his office.
PS It snowed all day long on Monday. I mean, it didn’t stop.
And, yes, I do take pictures in the first snow fall. every. year.
…then I cried a couple hours later and begged Collin to leave work and pick up the carpool.
///You may still throw your name into the hat for the Lizzy’s favorites GIVEAWAY open below///
It was quite fitting that it was snowing as I uploaded pics for this post since the album is about December & Christmas. Also, I am wearing a beanie since I am a baby about the cold.
December Daily, holiday albums & anything to document the magical traditions of Christmas time is time well spent. That’s why I dug up this album I started last year and finished the majority of it last week for the Two Peas Garden.
For the base of the album I used an SC Handbook the same size as my Dear Lizzy mini album.
This album has a few different techniques that I enjoyed in the process:
Printing a photo on patterned paper. (I have done this the past couple years for my album.)
Diecut a quote of favorite song and scripture for a full page using my Silhouette.
Layering on pages from holiday catalogs.
Sewing pieces of vellum to the front of page protectors.
Loving the wood tiles and cards from Two Peas!!
I used my Silhouette to diecut a song lyric and scripture pages then sewed them to the page protector. (Following the seam of the page protector as I stitched them together.) Seeing through to the next page is one of my favorite things to add to the design of mini albums.

A story below about the time I dressed up as Santa…! The kids loved this new traditon!
Working on my December Daily// Will post more pics asap
Browsing Ruches’ Homemade Holiday! They included my advent boxes from last year:
Counting down the days to find out whether there’s a boy or girl growing in this tummy of mine! So excited! You will be the first to know, after I text my mom and my bff Mary.
It’s all about the confetti cover this year. First, I painted it white then added punched circles, star and circle stickers, painted on the end of my pencil eraser and stamped then a little glue and glitter. I also added a glittered chipboard frame, wood button, tapes and doily. The glitter is actually Zing embossing powder but the color is perfect. I used Glossy Accents swirled into circles, sprinkled on glitter then blew the excess glitter off. Leaving the glammed up glitter dots.
Pages about the dance recital. It was epic. For reals. I watch the replay of the performances and laugh hysterically in an I’m-so-proud-of-you! And you-are-the-cutest-thing-I’ve-ever-seen way!
A page about the ornament kids’ craft and not only waiting for me so she can start crafting but this season is all about patience. Waiting for presents. Waiting to celebrate more, hear more & learn more about our Savior’s birth. Waiting for Santa. Waiting for snow. Waiting and waiting each day as we’re closer to Christmas.
Merrymaking is the only thing on this girl’s agenda! That and squeezing bottles of paint straight onto my desk. Clearly, I am still having fun printing my photos & journaling on patterned paper. Me likey.
You will also see a trend of envelopes in this book. I love the interactive element. The little surprises, secret notes and trinkets that someday we will look through together and enjoy all the treasures we find. (Evalicious button and label, and felt tab below.) The silver doily was a bit flashy but when I added the wood button, vellum, feather and vintage tickets I liked it better… that’s what you call juxtaposition baby! (I like to use the “j” word around Collin so he thinks I’m smart.)
Check out the other parts of the album:
Like I mentioned yesterday I had reached my limit of blogging time, according to Lola, so today I am adding the rest. Like I also mentioned yesterday, I had too much fun printing on all sorts of things!
Today I am sharing the printed doily and the printed glassine bag, as well as some more pictures printed on patterned paper. I’m loving my Studio Calico kit and can not wait until my album comes in the mail so I can put it all together.
This is a fabric paper page- I am obsessed with this design. I added a tag with random punched holes then weaved some twine through it and tied a little knot. Also layered book paper, a sticker I stamped on then a glitter star and a brad. The photo of Collin and Lola under the twinkling lights at Riverwoods.
The right page next to the chevron stripe you will find a bag with the journaling printed on it. I also layered some paper, felt, wood banner, paper, book paper, glitter star. Inside are some Jenni Bowlin tickets with some notes on them and photos of family.
The page on the left has a glassine envie with a “MERRY” title, journaling tag inside, cutest wood button, lolli paper flower, gold doily, some of my Dear Lizzy tape and a book paper stamp.
The right page is a transparency, photo printed on a doily and a journaling page sewed together on the left edge. I was so happy that the doily turned out so cute… and that I didn’t destroy my printer. heehee Yesterday I mentioned that I should do a little tutorial about how to print on so many different mediums with confidence.
I added a grouping of embellies on the front of the swirl transparency including a stickers, ticket, Evalicious button & Tim Holtz game spinner.
I printed two pictures of Collin on patterned paper adding a transparency between them. The right page I added journaling above my title and then a pocket for a journaling tag. He really is cooler than Santa!
lol This photo of our Christmas tree warrior cracks me up!

PART ONE: December Daily
PART THREE December Daily: merrymaking
I’ve been December Daily-ing my brains out… ! Each year these Christmas memories suck me in and I love making an album of it all! This is the first part of it because it took me so long to take pictures of it all I am going to post half now and half later. I might be missing the point with not doing it every day but this is what works for me, putting pages together on the weekend or a few days at a time.
I’ve really had too much fun & making my printer do a lot of the work! I printed photos on patterned paper, vellum, journaling on glassine envelopes & my favorite is a photo on a freaking doily! I was pretty excited about that one… mostly because I didn’t ruin my printer. lol But I am hoping to share some video tutorials this week but for now here are some photos.
I cut the calendar and used the bottom half for a pocket for the inside of the first page. Next punched some squares added patterned paper behind and some fun embellies. I am using this pocket for notes, tags, papers the girls have drawn on that I want to include later in my book.
I loved the book paper envies and we included everyones’ wishes in our family inside each one. As well as some tickets, a feather and other little surprises.
This is when Lola met Santa. Apparently she wasn’t excited that we sat her on some strange man’s lap. Poor thing had to endure long enough for a picture.
I printed Avery’s photo on vellum and it measures 6″ x 9.” I wanted her letter to Santa to show through from next page. I cut the edge of the vellum photo with pinking shears so the edge looked more finished.
“Dear Santa, This is Avery. I would like a pink puppy.”
Stay tuned for the second half… not that you really care right? I am sure you are all on the edge of your seats. (heehee ;))
