Last night while climbing up the ladder to her bunkbed Avery asks, “Mom, why did Daddy say he never wants me to grow up?”
Me: “Because you’re so cute we want you to stay little.”
Avery: “He doesn’t want me to go to college?”
Me: “Not for a loooong time.”
Avery: “Then I will take a picture of us with me when I go so I won’t miss you.”
Me: “Actually, remember that baseball game we went to? That’s where I went to college so you can go somewhere close.”
Avery: “And then I will come home to visit.”
Me: “Or you can live here at home. You can stay here with us and still go to college.”
Avery: “But I will still take a picture with me.”
I started laughing when I re-told this conversation to Collin. I didn’t realize how funny I sounded… clearly I am not ever letting her move out. Ever! haha
Lately it hit me that my girls are actually going to grow up someday. Wha???? The days seem so long and blurred together right now that I can’t imagine that happening anytime soon…
But since it is inevitable I am taking full advantage of the age where I can play dress up and take pictures. The age when I can still bribe them with 10 minutes of ipad time to hold still for 5 seconds so I can take their picture. That’s literally all the time this dolly gives me.
Collin came home from work earlier than expected while Quincey was sitting on the piano and gave me a funny look. Dinner wasn’t made but Quincey was dressed up like a half-zebra. Priorities.
