Today I’m excited to share a sneak peek of my newest Dear Lizzy collection: 5th & Frolic! It will premiere this July in Chicago at the Craft & Hobby Show.
It’s only natural that each line has a piece of me and where I am in my life. The last few years I’ve been drawn to and really focusing on our family and not just because I have 3 girls which requires me to do so. haha But I strive to get up every morning and not trudge through our routine but to enjoy it. Of course I have my bad days but like the sticker above I try to… find the extraordinary in our ordinary days. If you see my albums they are filled with pages about the everyday moments and not so much events. This line really captures that, yet it is versatile enough to work with many different themes.
It’s also interesting to see that I’ve slowly gone through all the seasons and it would be safe to say that this collection is inspired by touches of fall. A season that really encompasses family, gratitude and cozying up at home.
One of my favorite parts of the process is putting the patterned papers together. Yes, I am drawn to pretty patterns and colors but I try to choose them in a way that would work with boys or girls– go with blues or pinks and reds. Or like the page above use neutral with a pop of color.
It’s also quite fun to choose what elements to include… and for this line some of what you will see include arrows, burlap, clipboards, more polaroids, feathers, house plans, typewriters and a cute boy and girl fox. Because we all know that foxes are the new owl.
I can’t wait to share more of this collection! It’s one of my favorite so far… but I probably say that about every single one. haha

Cant wait to see the whole collection! I’m pretty much a huge fan of all your lines so far =] I really love the arrows, and are the feathers a part of it? I have 3 sons so I love that you have made it versatile for girls or boys! I always feel like boy themed scrapbooking supplies are limited to sports and dirt, but girl themes seem endless. Cant wait to get my hands on this line and see how I can make it work for my 3 sons!! You stay awesome Liz!

I’m glad that you can make some of the papers and elements work with your boys pages.
I think the feathers may be my favorite part of this line so far. We are part Cherokee Indian, and I recently found out that my kids are the last of the blood line that are able to register with the Cherokee Nation and get an Indian card with a tribal registration number {I thought my sisters and I were the last so I was excited that my kids could too!}. They have been asking alot about it, and are really interested in the fact that they have Indian blood in them…so these feathers will be great on some pages/projects about our heritage!
